General objective: The main objective of the project is to increase the potential of
universities in the training of specialists in quality assurance and risk
management in healthcare in Azerbaijan, achieve creation of
educational infrastructure and open relevant majors at the bachelor' and master's level in this field.

Mission of the project:
  • New study program on quality and risk management in health care services at the bachelor's and master's level (or adaptation of the existing majors’ curriculums);
  • Open a resource center equipped with equipments for providing education in distance format in the major on quality and risk management in health care sevices and develop its action plan.
  • Preparation of the accreditation file of new specialties
  • Starting distance education in the resource center
  • Achieving wide dissemination and outreach of the new majors among the public and health professionals.
Tasks implemented by AzTU:

● Within the framework of the project, a survey was conducted among 500 healthcare professionals in order to determine the professional skills and competencies needed for quality and risk management in health care, after analyzing the results of the survey skills and competencies were determined for the start of a new major.

● Within the framework of the project, the master's degree major on "Quality and risk management in healthcare"; was opened and student admission started from the 2022/2023 academic year.

● Within the framework of the project, equipment was purchased and handed over to the "Economics and Management" faculty, where teaching is conducted.

● Three representatives of AzTU participated in strategic trainings in partner university in Greece.

● Two teachers participated in 5-day trainings at the University of Western Attica in Athens, Greece.

● An information session was held for students, teachers and medical staff about the new master's degree opened at the university.
