Period of Implementation The main objective of the project is to establish doctoral schools within higher education institutions and achieve to the adaptation of doctoral education’s management at the national level by ensuring high standards in doctoral education in Azerbaijan and increasing the compliance of doctoral education with European standards.

The main tasks of the project:

• Establishment of doctoral schools within higher education institutions and adapt them to the management of doctoral education at the national level;
• Ensuring high standards in doctoral education and increasing compliance of Azerbaijani doctoral education with European standards;
• Sharing tools for the professionalization and internationalization of doctoral education through knowledge, complementary skills and mobility;
• Increasing professional skills of doctoral students to meet the needs of regional, national and international labor markets. Duties:

- Analyzing the current situation of the structure of doctoral education in Europe and Azerbaijan;

- Exchange of knowledge and experience;

- Definition of quality standards of doctoral education;

- Establishing a quality management system;

- Adoption of a common structural system for doctoral education in Azerbaijan.

Works performed by the project consortium:

• The current situation and structure of doctoral education in Europe has been studied.
• The current situation of doctoral education in Azerbaijan was investigated and evaluated.
• Comparative innovative doctoral training principles, schemes have been developed in Azerbaijan and Europe.
• The structuring of doctoral education has been carried out.
• High standards have been developed in Higher Education.
• Skills were defined for the development of professional skills.
• Doctoral education has been developed in Azerbaijan.
• Internationalization has been developed in higher education institutions.
• The NIZAMI - self-assessment tool for the internationalization of higher education institutions was created.
• A quality assessment tool for doctoral education programs has been developed.
• A National Management Portal has been established.
• A Manual on the National Management Portal has been developed
• A guidebook for doctoral students has been prepeared.
