Leyla Mazdak Mammadova, PhD in Physical and Mathematical Sciences, was born on July 28, 1975, in Baku, Azerbaijan. She received her early education at Baku Secondary School No. 96, graduating with a gold medal in 1992.

The same year, she was admitted to the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics at Baku State University (BSU), where she completed her studies with honors in 1997. In 1999, she began postgraduate research at the Department of Mathematical Physics Equations within the same faculty. She successfully defended her dissertation in 2003 on the topic “Conditions for the Correctness of Mixed Problems for Third-Order Equations,” earning the academic degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (specialization 01.01.02 – Differential Equations).

L.M.Mammadova started her academic career as a Lecturer at the Department of Information Technologies and Programming at BSU (2001–2002). From 2002 to 2011, she served as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economic Informatics of the same faculty. In recognition of her academic contributions, she obtained the title of Associate Professor in 2014.

Beyond her academic roles, she has held several important administrative and project-based positions. In 2017–2018, she led the dual-degree program with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics. Between 2019 and 2023, she worked as the Director of an Additional Education Institution operating under a special license recognized by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

From 2011 to 2025, L.M.Mammadova worked as an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematical Economics at BSU’s Faculty of International Relations and Economics, while also serving as a member of the Faculty Scientific and Methodological Council.

In 2025, she was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications at the Azerbaijan Technical University. She is also an associate professor at the Department of Engineering Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications.

L.M.Mammadova is the author of 40 scientific publications and 3 study books.

 She is proficient in Russian and English and is a member of the New Azerbaijan Party.

She is married and has two children.
