Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, Professor Nizami Yusubov, has been awarded a DAAD scholarship for his scientific research work titled “Process Modeling for the Planning of Productive Operations in Machining” (“Prozessmodellierung für die Planung von produktiven Arbeitsgängen in der spanenden Fertigung”), which he submitted to the 2023 grant competition held by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
Nizami Yusubov, invited by DAAD, conducted scientific research on the same topic at the Fraunhofer Institute for Large Structures in Production Technology and the Department of Production Technologies at the University of Rostock, Germany, from July 1 to September 30, 2023.
During the trip, the professor from AzTU conducted experimental research in collaboration with the Institute Director and Head of the Department, Professor Wilko Flügge, to verify the application of these mathematical models to both mathematical and real machining processes. The aim of the scientific research was to enhance machining efficiency on automated CNC machines through adaptive control methods.
Nizami Yusubov also presented at a seminar on “Increasing the Efficiency of Multipoint Machining in Automated CNC Machining Centers” at the Fraunhofer Institute for Large Structures in Production Technology and the Department of Production Technologies at the University of Rostock.
To expand collaboration, discussions were held in Rostock with Professor Wilko Flügge, professors Silvio Simon and Andreas Burger from Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg), AzTU Professor Nizami Yusubov, and Dean of the Faculty of German Engineering, Arastun Mammadov, regarding joint participation in the development of master’s and doctoral programs, as well as other matters.
It was noted that in the future, joint research work between German universities and AzTU is planned to further develop this collaboration.
