AzTU hosted an event titled "COP Requirements: Climate Change and Resilience to Natural Disasters."

Organized by Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), the Baku Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), the Union of Student Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan (ATGTI), and student youth organizations affiliated with higher education institutions, a student scientific conference on "COP Requirements: Climate Change and Resistance to Natural Disasters" took place in Baku on April 15th.

The official inauguration of the scientific conference commenced with the rendition of the national anthem, followed by a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the integrity and sovereignty of our nation.

In his opening address, Professor Vilayat Valiyev, the rector of AzTU, conveyed to the attendees that the conference, dedicated to the most pertinent topics of our time, was not a happenstance occurrence. He underscored the vital role such conferences play in educating young individuals. Additionally, he highlighted the significance of the Patriotic War victory, crediting the bravery of our esteemed Army and the leadership of President and Commander-in-Chief Muzaffar Ilham Aliyev. Professor Valiyev emphasized that we are living in a historic era, shaped by this victory, and underscored the importance of hosting COP29 in Azerbaijan.

Major General Maharram Hasanov, the head of the Baku Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, addressed the audience, highlighting the exceptional efforts undertaken by the ministry. He emphasized the paramount importance of the state policy aimed at safeguarding the safety of young individuals as a top priority direction.

Parviz Miralamli, Chairman of the Union of Student Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan, discussed the beneficial impacts of organizing significant projects on the development of students' practical skills and the potential prospects stemming from such endeavors. He highlighted the Union's active involvement in crucial events like COP29, underscoring its commitment to contributing to meaningful initiatives.

Following the initial addresses, the event proceeded with speeches delivered by students representing 10 higher education institutions in Baku, focusing on the theme "COP Requirements."

Finally, the participants were honored with certificates in recognition of their contributions.
